To find eldercare help for anywhere in the U.S., first call your local Area Agency on Aging (AAA). The national toll-free number is 1-800-677-1116. Or you can or visit the federal Eldercare Locator website at https://eldercare.acl.gov.
An AAA is a federally-supported agency, designated to address the needs and concerns of all persons aged 60 and older at the local levels. AAAs are primarily responsible for a geographic area that is either a city, a county or a multi-county district. AAAs coordinate and offer services that help older adults remain independent and lead active lives, aided by services such as Meals-on-Wheels, senior centers, homemaker assistance, and help with transportation.
For the Atlanta area the AAA is called Empowerline (formerly AgeWise Connection) and is managed by the Atlanta Regional Commission. For round-the-clock help call (404) 463-3333 or visit their Website.
